Support Judge Dan Wilson for Supreme Court

| October 8, 2024 7:00 AM

I have not heard a more timely and justified comment made about Montana government, be it the Executive, Judicial or Legislative branch than the suggestion of voting for Dan Wilson for Supreme Court.

It was some 27 years ago that my wife and I moved to Kalispell to start our Parenting with Dignity Curriculum for Parent Education. When we arrived, I joined Daybreak Rotary of Kalispell as one of my first orders of business. That was one of the best decisions of my life.

That Daybreak Rotary Club was full of community leaders who were part of the most worthwhile projects in the Flathead Valley. Enter Mr. Dan Wilson.

At the very first Board of Director’s meeting, he handed out copies of our club Constitution and Bylaws to each member and had us report on necessary changes at every board meeting. In the end, we changed Daybreak Rotary permanently for the better by working together on this most difficult of projects. It is my firm belief that Dan Wilson will bring the same kind of cooperative, “Let’s Work Together!” kind of attitude to the laws and regulations of the State of Montana.

And I feel that I have a pretty unique view of life in Montana. For all those years, I traveled the roads and highways of Montana as the President, Founder, Author, and Presenter for our Parenting with Dignity Curriculum and Program.

I have spoken in almost every Community in this state at one time or another, from Plentywood to Darby, Billings to Missoula, Troy to Lame Deer, and almost every town in between. Believe me, I understand what most Montanans want for their state. They may express it in different ways, but they want a traditional Montana where individual ideas and freedoms abound.

Those of you who have sat in the room to listen to me talk about raising children know I firmly believe that “the ideas in your head rule your world!” Nothing could be more true than for Dan Wilson.

The idea of fairness under the law rules his world. He is not a man of preconceived thoughts, ideas or notions. He is a man of “fairness under the law.” He assumed his position as president of our Rotary Club with the idea that we had rules and regulations which we needed to follow and that the rules needed to serve our Club and not the other way around.

Dan will serve Montana with diligent and honest hard work in the best interests of all the Citizens of Montana. He will not favor private business or government regulation, and he will not favor special interest groups.

He will favor sound judgment and fair treatment for all under the law. I watched him do it in our Rotary club, I have watched him do it in our District Court, and I sincerely hope to watch him do it while sitting on the Montana Supreme Court.

Dan Wilson for Supreme Court is a vote whose time has come!
