The Northwest Montana Drug Task Force recently announced the successful completion of two recent drug interdiction operations that resulted in multiple seizures of firearms and narcotics, as well as several arrests.

In an operation in Lincoln County, the Northwest Montana Drug Task Force partnered with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Libby Police Department and Montana Highway Patrol.

This sting was designed to target drug-related suspects and offenders in the region. Thanks to the dedication and teamwork of all involved, authorities successfully executed search warrants, resulting in additional drug seizures and arrests.

According to Sheriff Darren Short, Jon Brooks and Christine Quinn were arrested on outstanding warrants during the operation.

Another operation was a collaborative effort involving the FBI Task Force, U.S. Border Patrol, Columbia Falls Police Department and Blackfeet Tribal Police. This partnership exemplified the strength of agencies working together to combat drug trafficking and ensure community safety. Through coordinated efforts, the team was able to intercept quantities of illegal drugs, along with firearms linked to criminal activities.

“We are proud of the collaborative spirit displayed by all agencies involved in these operations,” said Sgt. Brooks, of the Northwest Montana Drug Task Force. “The success of these missions is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our law enforcement partners. Each participant dedicated their time and energy to protect our communities, and we are grateful for their sacrifices.”

The Northwest Montana Drug Task Force continues to prioritize the safety and well-being of local residents by tackling the challenges posed by drug trafficking and related violence. These operations not only serve to disrupt illegal activity but also demonstrate the effectiveness of inter-agency collaboration.

The Northwest Montana Drug Task Force is supported by the Rocky Mountain High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area established by the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy. In 2024, the NWMDTF annual award was $146,885.00 with 0% financed from non-government sources.
