LHS choir members named All-Northwest performers
A trio of Libby High School singers were chosen to participate in the 2025 All-Northwest Choirs at the National Association for Music Education Northwest Division Conference in Spokane, Washington.
Long-time music teacher Lorraine Braun lauded senior Keyera Haischer, Caleb Hart and freshman Vivian Cole for being selected to perform Saturday, Feb. 15.
They were chosen from a group of 3,000 high school students in Montana, Washington, Oregon, Wyoming and Alaska who auditioned to participate in the prestigious event.
“Many professional musicians credit their All-State or All-Northwest experience with helping them choose music as a career,” Braun said. “Thousands of others whose career paths took them in other directions have great memories of participating in this inspiring and motivating musical experience and say that it was a life-changing experience for them.
“No doubt that Keyera, Caleb and Vivian will have like experiences and kudos to them,” Braun said.
Haischer has excelled at the Montana State Music Festival while also competing for the girls soccer team. Hart has competed in the Montana Science Olympiad and been a mentor in the Kootenai Outdoor Adventure Program. Cole performed in “Annie” earlier this year at the Memorial Center and has dabbled in poetry, too.
Braun has led choirs in Libby that have entertained area residents for the better part of two decades. Her Libby Children’s Select Choir includes students from several area schools. She has also led the student choirs in performances honoring the area’s military veterans, during the Christmas season, at Guns & Hoses and helped put on several musicals.
