Date change for Libby Friends of Library book sale

Due to the temporary change of the schedule at the Libby Library, the Libby Friends of the Library book sale for November has been changed to Thursday, Nov. 7 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

There are books featuring Thanksgiving and fall, plus a selection of books with craft ideas for Christmas so that you can get started on those projects. 

Purchase of items is by donation, with all money received going to support programs for our Library.

Leaf Relief set for Nov. 9

A local event is planned Saturday, Nov. 9, for folks who need help getting their leaves cleaned up before winter arrives.

To be included on the list, call David at 406-334-1110 and provide the address where free leaf cleanup is needed.

Tourism board seeks applicants for volunteer board

Western Montana’s Glacier Country, the official tourism marketing, management and stewardship organization for Western Montana, is seeking applicants for positions on its volunteer board. 

Applicants must live in Lake, Lincoln, Mineral, Missoula or Ravalli counties, and work in a tourism-related business or organization.

“This is an important and dynamic time to be in the tourism industry,” says Racene Friede, Glacier Country Montana President and CEO. “Hundreds of businesses in our eight-county region depend on tourism and visitors for their livelihood, yet we need to maintain a balance with the resident sentiment,” she said. “Glacier Country is focused on ensuring economic sustainability while preserving the quality of life for residents and quality of place for visitors and residents alike.”

The application deadline is Nov. 15.

Western Montana’s Glacier Country is recognized by the Tourism Advisory Council (TAC) and the state of Montana as the official marketing and management organization for Western Montana.
Glacier Country is funded in part by the state accommodations tax (bed tax) and by private membership funds. 

Geographically, Glacier Country includes Flathead, Glacier, Lake, Lincoln, Mineral, Missoula, Ravalli and Sanders counties.
