State hosting webinars on avoiding fraud schemes

In partnership with the FBI AARP, and Senior Medicare Patrol, Montana Commissioner of Securities and Insurance Troy Downing is hosting a free educational webinar for International Fraud Awareness Week, which takes place Nov. 17-23.

There will be webinars on three different days and times to accommodate the schedules of seniors, senior facilities, caregivers, young adults and other community members. Each webinar will cover the same content. 

Certified Fraud Examiners estimate organizations lose 5% of their revenue annually due to fraud, according to Occupational Fraud 2024: A Report to the Nations. Fraud takes many shapes and forms, among them corporate fraud, consumer fraud, tax fraud, identity theft and many others.
