Matthew Aaron Edwards

| May 31, 2024 7:00 AM

Matthew Aaron Edwards was born March 11, 2004, in St. Maries, Idaho, passed away at home on May 23, 2024.

Since Matthew was a toddler, he loved tearing things apart and sometimes he got them put back together. When he was younger, he and his brother Nathan were always playing outside with cars and trucks in the dirt or riding bikes. He had an endless amount of energy.

His hands were always covered in grease, and he loved working on anything with an engine. He spent countless hours working on his vehicles and recently sacrificed the end of his pinky finger while trying to re-install his transmission. The louder and taller the vehicle, the happier he was.

He recently commented that his truck was his “happy place.” He loved being in the woods and driving around town on a warm night.

Matthew also loved spending time with his family and friends including his cousin Noah and niece Aspen. He seemed to be the happiest when he was helping people. He had a servant’s heart and always spent his time selflessly doing things for immediate family members or friends who needed him.

Matthew is survived and forever missed by his parents, Richard and Mary Edwards of St. Maries, Idaho, and Jessica Lechner of Pocatello, Idaho; his grandparents, Steve and Cheryl Wolleat of Libby, and Sami Brown of St. Maries; his brother, Nathan Edwards of St. Maries, Idaho, and sister Izzabelle Wolleat of Libby; uncle Kenny Brothers, aunt Shannon Wolleat, cousin Noah Brothers, niece Aspen Kraft of Libby and numerous great aunts and uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Forrest Edwards and his niece Londyn Stam both of St. Maries, Idaho.

There are no services planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes you teach a kid you know how to change their oil and rotate their tires and buy them a set of tools.

Arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg Funeral Home of Libby. Online condolences and memories may be shared by visiting www.schnackenbergfh.com
