Memorial Day weekend events in Libby

Two Memorial Day events will be held in Libby next week.

At 1 p.m. Saturday, May 25, the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 97 will hold a celebration for the statue known as Libby’s cemetery angel known as “Remembrance.”

It will be in the Libby Cemetery at the site of the statue. The guest speaker will be Justin Robinson, pastor of Libby Baptist Church and a U.S. military veteran.

Music will be performed by members of Big Sky Bows and Blowhards. Those who wish to place flowers at the base of the statue are welcome to do so. Chairs will be provided.

Also, at 1 p.m. Monday, May 27, the Lincoln County Veterans Memorial Foundation and the Libby VFW will hold a Memorial Day program at River Front Park at the Memorial statue.

Members of the community are invited to share a short, special memory or story about a veteran or an event near and dear to them.

Chairs will be provided.
