George Edward Countryman (April 26, 1947 – March 11, 2024) passed away, peacefully and surrounded by family, after an extended battle with cancer.

George is survived by his wife Sandy of 25 years, his children, George Jr. (Jami), Bryon and Amanda (Pat), and his stepchildren, William Ebert (Tonni) and Jackie Ivers. George had 10 grandchildren and two great-grand children. George is also survived by his sisters Carol, Velma and Mattie.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Rosalie, numerous brothers and sisters, Leroy, Alberta, Allen, Byron, Richard, Erna, Joan, Dora and his parents, Edward and Anna.

In 1984, George and his family settled and lived in Eureka, Montana where he, over the years, worked in all facets of the logging industry. In 1997, he and Sandy moved to Helena, Montana where he worked at Helena Sand and Gravel.

After retiring in 2012, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends.

George was well known and made lifelong friends wherever he went. He was happy to start conversations regardless of if he knew you or not. George always remembered the faces and details of the friendships he had made.

Many times, when traveling, or visiting family away from home, he was recognized by friends and old classmates.

George was loved and will be missed by many. He was one of a kind and told it like it was.

If you ever think of George, just remember that he was always glad you got to see him.

A memorial to celebrate his life will be held on a later date.
