Spring sports begin for south Lincoln Co. squads
Spring sports kicks off this weekend for some south Lincoln County varsity teams.
The Libby boys and girls tennis squads are scheduled to be in Polson at 9 a.m. Friday to take on the Pirates. Matches with Hamilton will follow at about 11 a.m.
Libby’s first home match is set for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6, against Bigfork.
The Libby Invitational is scheduled for the weekend of April 19-20.
The divisional tournament will be at the Flathead Valley Community College on May 13-15 while the state tournament will be in Kalispell May 23-25.
The Libby Loggers softball team heads to Frenchtown for its season opener on Saturday. The junior varsity game begins at noon with the varsity at 2 p.m.
Libby’s home opener is Thursday, March 28, against Eureka. JV game time is 3 p.m. with the varsity at 5 p.m.
The Western A divisional tourney is May 17-18 in Polson while state is May 23-25 in Billings.
Libby’s track and field team begins its season next Friday, March 29, at Eureka. The meet begins at 10 a.m.
Libby’s only home meet is the Libby Invitational on Saturday, April 13.
The county meet is in Eureka on April 30. The super divisional is set for May 17-18 in Columbia Falls while state is at Laurel on May 23-25.
For the Troy Trojans, their tennis squad begins play at Mission at noon Saturday, March 23. The home opener is at noon Saturday, April 6, against Mission.
The baseball and softball teams begin play on the road on Tuesday, March 26. The baseball team is at Eureka at 3 p.m. while the softball team is at Thompson Falls with a 5 p.m. start time.
The track and field team will be at Eureka on Friday, March 29.
The baseball team home opener is against Browning on Monday, April 1. Junior varsity is at 3 p.m. with varsity to follow at 5 p.m.
Softball’s home opener is Friday, April 5, against Mission-Arlee-Charlo. The junior varsity game begins at noon with the varsity at 2 p.m.
