Beverly Jean (Bernhard) O’Brien

| March 1, 2024 7:00 AM

In Loving Memory of Beverly Jean (Bernhard) O’Brien.

Beverly passed away with her loving daughter Belinda Masters at her side, in the comfort of her home on Feb. 20, 2024.

Beverly was born in Eureka, Montana to Xennie and Agnes (Mathis) Bernhard on April 9, 1938. She was the youngest of six children. Beverly grew up on the family farm and attended school in Eureka as well as working part time as a waitress in the small town.

On Dec. 3, 1955, she married a very special man and the love of her life Louie D. O’Brien.

After their marriage they lived in old Rexford or as the old timers called it “camp.” It was here that Belinda, Vicki and Leslie were born. Their fourth child Kelly was born after they moved to Libby, where Beverly lived out her remaining years.

Beverly worked at the United States Postal Service for many years until she retired. She loved the outdoors. Beverly and her family would go on picnics, camping, fishing and she loved to ride motorbikes on the back country roads. Beverly also played softball with the local women’s league here in Libby.

As life progressed Beverly’s passion was to go watch her grandchildren play sports. Wrestling was one of her favorite sports to watch. No matter how far away they were. She was packed and ready to travel so she could attend and support her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.

Beverly is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her brothers Cecil, Maurice, Roger, Allen and her sister Helen Doble.

Beverly is survived by her children, Belinda J. Masters (Ron) of Libby, Montana; Vicki S. O’Brien of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho: Leslie D. O’Brien (Tina) of Ventura, California; Kelly L. O’Brien (Rhonda) of Libby, Montana; her seven grandchildren RJ, Cory, Kyle, Christina, Lee, Evan Justin and 14 great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews along with her sole cousin Clayton Jensen of Washington.

There will be a viewing from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at the Schnackenberg Funeral Home and a memorial service in honor of Beverly at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2024, at the Church of God in Libby, Montana.
