Ryan Eric Snyder

| June 21, 2024 7:00 AM

Ryan Eric Snyder, 56, passed away unexpectedly at his home on May 21, 2024.

Ryan was born in Libby, Montana to Franklin and Emily Joyce Snyder. He graduated from Libby Senior High School in 1985 and attended Montana State University.

Ryan worked for Holiday Inn in Bozeman, Montana, before moving back to Libby to care for his parents. He worked for years at the Libby Care Center. Ryan cared for his father during his battle with cancer until his passing in 2011. He also cared for his mother for decades after she was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson’s disease, until her passing in 2021.

Her doctor noted that he had never witnessed a caregiver help a Parkinson’s patient live and function as long as Ryan had. After his mother passed, Ryan was heartbroken but focused on building a life that was finally his own.

Ryan was a caring man with a gentle soul, many natural talents and enormous intellectual curiosity. His hobbies included magic, particularly sleight-of-hand. He was a gifted musician, playing wind instruments such as the French horn. He could carry on an informed conversation about almost any topic and was always questioning convention and seeking the truth.

Ryan will be deeply and forever missed by his surviving siblings, close friends and many others who came to know and love him.

He is survived by his brothers Tony, Bradley and Strom; his sister Jada and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be at the Libby Cemetery on June 24 at 2 p.m.
