The Libby Loggers Legion baseball season ended last week in Florence at the Western A Tournament.

The Loggers dropped games on Thursday and Friday, finishing the season at 7-34, according to reporting in the Daily Inter Lake.

Thursday, the Glacier Twins claimed a 4-1 win over Libby. Friday, the Cranbrook Bandits won 11-1.

Twins 4, Loggers 1 

Maddox Miller and Michael Muller combined on a one-hitter and the Glacier Twins used RBIs from Dawson Juntunen and Matthew Mitts.  

Miller allowed the hit, along with one unearned run, in five innings of work. He walked five and struck out two. Muller finished up, striking out two in two innings. 

Kellen Kroger and Juntunen had two hits each, with Kroger coming around on an error for the Twins’ second run, in the third inning. Jack McIntyre popped a double in the win.

Ian Thom scored Libby’s run in the fourth inning, reaching on an error and coming around on a walk, a hit by pitch and Kale Riddle’s RBI groundout. 

Pitcher Aidan Rose went six innings for Libby, allowing eight hits, a walk and two earned runs. He fanned five. 

Cranbrook 11, Libby 1 

Cranbrook scored six runs in the fifth inning en route to an 11-1 victory over the Libby Loggers Friday to stay alive. 

Kale Riddle picked up the lone RBI for the Loggers. 

Cy Williams opened the game for Libby, going four innings. Noah Gillespie and Cody Todd combined to finish out the final two innings. 

Cabinet View Women's Golf League results

The Cabinet View Women’s Golf League played two-partner best ball Wednesday, July 24. Barb Mee and Donna Havens won the game and it was a fun time for everyone.

Wednesday, July 17, the ladies had a “not so fun” day playing Black Ball. Each player received a point for going into the sand, water, hitting a tree or going out-of-bounds.

Lowest points won the game. It was a Grand Slam day for Barb Mee in Flight A and Phyll Macki in Flight B. They both won the game, low gross and low net! 

The Cabinet View Women’s Golf League played “Guess Your Net” Wednesday, July 10. 

Prior to play, members had to guess their score. The winner of Flight A was Susie Jahn and Phyll Macki won Flight B. The low gross Flight A was Susie Jahn and Shirley Chase took Flight B. 

Low net winner was Susie Jahn in Flight A and Dorothy Hintz in Flight B. 

The ladies play each week at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
