Mission Valley sweeps Libby Loggers Legion baseball
POLSON — Dawson DuMont picked up three RBIs and crossed the plate twice himself as the Mission Valley A Mariners swept the Libby A Loggers in a doubleheader Tuesday evening.
According to Daily Inter Lake reporting, seven walks aided the Mariners in game one to a 10-0 victory with just four hits in the six-inning game. The game ended due to the mercy rule.
Brayson Dumont picked up a hit and tallied a pair of runs for Mission Valley.
Five errors from the Loggers helped Mission Valley’s lead.
Landon Shoemake started for the Mariners and went 5 1-3 innings, allowing just two hits. He fanned 10.
Cash Atkinson finished out the final 2-3 inning to secure the win.
Tanner Wolfe and Isaac Lamere picked up the lone hits for the Loggers (5-25).
In the second game Cody Haggard brought in three runs as Mission Valley took another 10-0 decision.
Cole Wadsworth started and threw one no-hit inning. Wyatt Wadsworth finished out the final four innings allowing five hits and striking out two.
Landon Shoemake went 2-for-3 for the Mariners, driving in one run and scoring another.
Kale Riddle reached base twice for the Loggers, who picked up five hits on the game.
Five Libby errors aided the Mariners offense.
Libby hosts Missoula Sunday for a doubleheader, beginning at noon.
