Dolores M. Fredericksen

Dolores M. Fredericksen, 94, of Libby, Montana passed away June 25, 2024. 

She was born Feb. 21, 1930, in Libby, Montana to the late Joseph and Etta McCallum. Dolores attended grade school and graduated high school in Libby. 

Dolores was employed as a receptionist for Dr. Nelson in Libby, she also worked for JCPenney from 1960 to 1974. Her most recent work was in a managerial role at Happy Inn Resort where she worked for over 25 years. 

Dolores was most excited about the resort where she raised enough money to build the fire hall and donate the first ambulance. 

Dolores met her first husband, Don, and they were married from Jan. 2, 1949, until Feb. 6, 1956, when Don passed in a mining accident. Her second husband Harvey met Dolores in Libby and married July 3, 1959. 

Dolores enjoyed the outdoors and was most happy with a rake in her hand. She loved baking cookies and apple pies. Dolores fed every wild creature especially ducks and geese. Her family said she went through about 50 pounds of gain per week. 

Dolores is survived by children: Linda Brousseau (Jim) of Libby, Jim Madison (Annette) of Washington state and Michael Madison (Patty) of Arizona; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents, Dolores is preceded in death by husband, Harvey H. Fredericksen; sisters, Marthelen, Lucille and Josephine; and brothers: Herman, Edward and Walter.
