Libby froshmore boys basketball looks forward to second half

| January 30, 2024 7:00 AM

The Libby Loggers boys freshman basketball team is hoping for more wins in the second half of the season against Northwest A foes.

The froshmore squad, coached by Kelly May and assistant Scott Beagle, has experienced a lot of growth, according to the coaches.

"The froshmore team is a very young, inexperienced group of young men," Beagle reported. "Isaac Lamere and Kale Hall are the leaders of the froshmore team and are the only two players with previous high school basketball experience. Isaac and Kale swing up with the varsity team as well as playing on the froshmore team. The team has shown a lot of growth in their basketball skills. Coaches and players both are excited about the second half of the season as we prepare to play the second round of games against the northwest conference teams."

The players include freshmen Zander Gassman, Blaise Erickson, Isaiah Barks, James Woody and Tucker Morgan. Sophomores are Brodie Walton, William Beardsley, Kale Hall and Isaac Lamere.

Lamere leads the team in scoring with 12 points per game while Hall averages 7.5 points. Lyzander Gassman and James Woody each average 4.3 points and Tucker Morgan averages 4 points.

Here are the game results, provided by coach Scott Beagle.

Frenchtown (56-24), Eureka (47-44), Hamilton (40-23), Corvallis (37-22), Bigfork (43-33), Ronan (53-31), Browning (75-44) and Polson (57-49).
