Delivery of The Western News delayed due to dangerous winter conditions
Due to extreme and dangerous weather conditions, delivery and availability of the Friday, Jan. 12 edition of The Western News will be delayed.
We are hoping the newspaper will be available sometime Friday. If not, it will be available on Monday.
This is in part because the paper is printed in Kalispell and the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to stay off of the roads Thursday, if at all possible. It is receiving reports of zero visibility, high winds, whiteout conditions and heavy snow throughout the valley. Some roads were already closed in the Flathead as of Thursday afternoon.
The county and city's roads departments and law enforcement are working hard to keep up with road conditions and traffic concerns.
If you must travel, call your destination prior to leaving to ensure it is open this afternoon/evening. Be watchful for emergency vehicles and road closures.
