Libby woman arrested for assault and trespassing
A Libby woman is facing charges of assault and trespassing after she allegedly attacked two people recently.
Emily Suzanne Chamberlain, 41, is accused of four misdemeanors, including partner or family member assault, assault, criminal trespass and resisting arrest.
Chamberlain is free on $15,000 bond.
According to the probable cause statement by Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy Brandon Huff, he responded to a Vanderwood Lane residence at about 7:29 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18, after a disturbance was reported.
He reported that Chamberlain had been restrained in the driveway of the property.
Huff determined Chamberlain allegedly entered and remained on the property without permission. Huff reported the property had numerous “no trespassing signs” and she had been told by the residents to leave, but didn’t.
Based on court documents, Chamberlain then allegedly assaulted a woman after pulling her out of a trailer, tearing her shirt and causing her to strike her head as she fell to the ground.
Huff also reported that Chamberlain allegedly assaulted a man, whom she had recently been in an intimate relationship, scratching his back and biting him on both the chin and his foot. Huff reported the injuries were still bleeding and were consistent with human bite marks.
Huff also stated in the report that while being arrested Chamberlain allegedly resisted arrest by flailing, scratching and attempting to bite Huff and Deputy Cody DeWitt.
A conviction for partner or family member assault may result in a maximum jail sentence of one year.
Convictions on the assault, trespass and resisting arrest charges may result in a maximum sentence of six months.
