| February 13, 2024 7:00 AM

Steven “Andy” Hutchison, 51, formerly of Troy and Libby, Montana passed away Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024, in Mount Vernon, Washington, with his wife, Shanna, and his daughters by his side.

Andy was born April 13, 1972, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Donna and Stephen Hutchison. He attended school and lived most of his young life in Troy, Montana, graduating from Libby High School in 1990.

As a child he loved art and learned to play guitar. He spent most of his time trying to keep up with four older siblings.

As an adult, Andy was a Mopar enthusiast and loved NASCAR, scuba diving, and rock and roll. Andy spent most of his adult life working as a steel building contractor and would proudly say “I built it,” all around western Washington. He was a hard worker and was good at everything he set out to do.

A genuine Aries, Andy was fun loving, charismatic, creative, stubborn, quick witted, brash and brave. Andy was a little guy with a great big heart.

In high school Andy met Paula Buff. The couple spent over 20 years together and raised three daughters, Natesha, Tiahna and Shalen. Andy taught his daughters to be tough, independent and not afraid to get a little dirty.

In 2017, Andy married Shanna Thompson. The couple enjoyed a shared love of music and watching professional sports. They were inseparable until Andy’s passing.

After a lifetime of being completely outnumbered by women in his life, Andy recently gained two sons-in-law and was blessed with two grandsons.

He is survived by his wife, Shanna; his parents, Donna Martz, of Troy, Montana, and Stephen Hutchison of Hayden, Idaho; his daughters, Natesha (Caleb) Slater of Sumner, Washington, Tiahna Hutchison, of Marysville, Washington, and Shalen (Brady) Southard of Snohomish, Washington; grandsons Kohen Mock and Wrigley Southard; sisters Camille Labelle, Madilyn Hutchison and Michelle (Blake) Johnson; brother Tony (Kristin) Hutchison and many nieces, nephews, cousins, good friends and co-workers.

A celebration of life will happen at a later date yet to be determined.
