Katherine Kay Roush

| February 13, 2024 7:00 AM

Katherine Kay Roush passed away in death in Boise, Idaho on Feb. 6, 2024, due to complications with dementia.

Kay was born Feb. 9, 1934, to Josephine and Andrew Killian in Deadwood, South Dakota.

She was an only child. Her family moved around for work during her childhood until they settled in Rapid City, South Dakota where she graduated high school. During that time, she met Howard Bud Roush while he was stationed at a U.S. Air Force base there and they were married Dec. 1, 1951.

After living on the Washington coast for a few years where their three children were born, they followed the plywood industry to Libby, Montana. There, they made Libby their permanent home and raised their children. Kay loved her life in Libby and the people that she knew there.

Whether she met them at her shopping trips to Rosauers, Pamida, or the occasional yard sale, one of her great joys was visiting people. Another one of her favorite pastimes was playing cards and having gatherings where she could enjoy her family.

Bud and Kay had a strong, loving marriage that has lasted 72 years, which has set a beautiful example for their children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Howard Bud Roush; her three children, Scott Roush (Lisa Garcia), Marlee Chapman (Jeff Lean) and Lynda Urdahl (Larry); nine grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Services will be held at the Schnackenberg Funeral Home; 422 W. 2nd Street; Libby, Montana, at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, 2024.

Arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg Funeral Home of Libby, Montana. Online condolences and memories may be shared by visiting www.schnackenbergfh.com.
