Logger boys basketball split at Frenchtown Tourney
The Libby Logger boys and girls basketball teams opened their respective seasons last weekend at the Frenchtown Tip-off Tournament.
Friday, the boys lost 64-37 to Lewistown. Saturday, they hammered Corvallis, 64-31.
In Saturday's game, three Loggers scored in double figures and were led by Ryan Beagle’s 16 points. Aidan Rose had 14 and Tristan Andersen added 11 for Libby. Beagle and Rose each hit two 3-pointers.
The girls team lost both games by 10 points.
Friday, Butte Central led 22-13 at the half and won 46-36.
Leah Rusdal led the Loggers with six points. Peyton Waggoner, Rachel Kosters and Madison Vincent each scored five points.
Hadleigh Wood and Rylee Delmas each scored three while Kaydence Stanek scored one.
Saturday, Libby led 20-19 at the half, but Corvallis dominated the third quarter 18-4 to claim a 48-38 win.
Rylee Delmas scored nine of her 13 points in the first half for Libby. Madison Vincent added 11 points, Rachel Kosters scored six and Peyton Waggoner scored five. Kaydence Stanek and Leah Rusdal each scored two.
Both teams will face Eureka today in Libby in the Battle of the Kootenai.
