Gerald Dale Robins
Gerald Dale (Jerry) Robins, 92, of Libby, Montana passed away at Libby Care Center of Cascadia on Nov. 29, 2024.
A private ceremony will be held by the family at a later date.
Gerald Dale Robins was born on Jan. 17, 1932, in Fairview, Montana, to Chester Washburn and Alice Matilda Robins.
He was happily married to Shirley Duffield on Feb. 10, 1955, until she passed away in July of 2024. They raised four children together in Libby: Michael, Lori, Linda and Todd. In addition, they fostered Jason Decker.
If you knew Jerry well, you knew that it was true he had a “sparkling personality” as he called it. If you weren’t being challenged to the world championship of any game by him, you could find him outdoors fishing or hunting, or inside watching Marshall Dillon, reading a newspaper or keeping up with friends on Instagram.
He had a unique language of his own, known to his family as “Jerry-isms”.
Gerald enjoyed teaching others the truths of the Bible about the future. He was baptized April 21, 1952, as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Gerald took comfort in Revelation 21:4, which says, “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
Gerald was preceded in death by parents Chester and Alice Robins, sister Zona Aldean Permenter, and wife Shirley Robins (Duffield).
He is survived by son Michael Robins and wife Rosie (Burlington, Washington), daughter Lori Sessums and husband Rick (Libby, Montana), daughter Linda Johnson and husband Greg (Wenatchee, Washington), son Todd Robins and wife Tammy (Libby, Montana), foster son Jason Decker and wife Sarah (Columbia Falls, Montana), grandson Travis Johnson and wife Gaby (Wenatchee, Washington), grandson Jordan Johnson (Wenatchee, Washington), granddaughter Jessica Thoeny and husband Devon (Libby, Montana), granddaughter Hannah Johnson (Wenatchee, Washington), granddaughter Erica Robins (Libby, Montana), and grandson Jericho Decker (Columbia Falls, Montana), as well as many nieces and nephews.
