Kalispell woman dies after being struck on U.S. 2

A Kalispell woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle on U.S. 2 in the early-morning hours of April 1 near Columbia Falls.

According to a report from Montana Highway Patrol, issued on April 7, the 45-year-old female was hit by a Toyota Corolla driven by a 34-year-old woman from Columbia Falls at 4:34 a.m.

According to the report, the driver was traveling west on U.S. 2 when the car struck the deceased on a dark stretch of road that wasn’t in a designated crosswalk.

The woman who died was taken to Logan Health.

The woman driving the Corolla was not wearing a seat belt nor was she injured.

Drugs and speed are suspected factors in the crash.
