A Troy woman facing charges of animal cruelty involving a dog after an investigation by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office has pleaded guilty.

Maygen Susann Reid, 38, was charged with three misdemeanors last fall. They include cruelty to animals, carrying or confining; failure to provide food and water and animal abandonment. Each were first offenses.

On March 18, Reid pleaded guilty to one count of animal cruelty. District Judge Matt Cuffe sentenced her to a one-year suspended term. She was ordered to pay a total of $1,085 in fines and fees and she is prohibited from owning or possessing any animals.
