Libby's Malyevac wins Polson Invite for third straight year
After shooting a 66 on his home course last week to win the Libby Invitational, Loggers senior Reece Malyevac completed a triplicate Monday at Polson Bay Golf Course while winning the Polson Invitational.
“Winning Polson’s Invitational three years in a row is a very difficult challenge!” said Loggers head coach Dann Rohrer. “The task wasn’t easy with Brady Powell shooting a 67, but Reece fired another 66 to win it!”
Ayden Montgomery shot a 114 and Fox Hayden a 148.
Rohrer said the girls continue to work hard and improve. Addison Skranak led the Lady Loggers with 111 while Lucy DeShazer shot 136.
The Loggers are on the road again Friday in Hamilton for their final regular season match. Next week, they play at the Whitefish South Course in the Western A Divisional Tournament.

A 54-yard touchdown pass on a reverse option with about four minutes left lifted the Ronan Chiefs to a 20-19 win over the Libby Loggers on Sept. 8.
It was Libby’s first loss after a 2-0 start.
Two Jace DeShazer touchdowns runs of 3 and 33 yards put the Loggers up 13-7 at halftime.
The Chiefs tied it at 13-13 when Kolby Finley threw a 27-yard TD pass to Josiah Misa.
The Loggers went ahead in the fourth quarter on a Aidan Agre-Baun 4-yard TD run.
But Mesa’s second TD catch and Jason Matthew Teague II’s PAT kick gave the Chiefs their first and only lead of the night.
The Loggers ran for more than 200 yards but the passing game struggled as QB Tristan Andersen hit on 5 of 12 passes for 63 yards and one interception.
The Loggers travel to Bigfork (2-1) tonight. The Vikings are in Class A for the first time since 2008.
