A local insurance agent is working to increase the community’s awareness of the importance of life insurance and its benefits to family members in difficult times.

Toni-Lynn Backen Insurance Agency in Libby is hosting a free lunch and learn session at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20 at Dorio’s Restaurant on California Avenue.

She asks that people who are interested in attending RSVP by Monday, Sept. 18 to toni-lynn@backeninsuranceagency.com or call 406-293-5748.

“I see it frequently where people hold GoFundMe’s when a loved one has died and they can’t afford to pay for services,” Backen said. “GoFundMe takes a cut of what people have donated and I also believe people should be prepared and not have to place an unnecessary burden on their family members when they have passed. There are plenty of things people have to deal with when a loved one dies, but paying for funeral arrangements and burial shouldn’t be part of it.”

Backen’s event is designed to help people gain a deeper understanding of the various types of life insurance, learn how life insurance can serve as a crucial financial safeguard for loved ones and learn about the benefits of having a well-structured life insurance plan.

Backen’s presentation will also show people how life insurance can help alleviate costs for the estate.
