Library hosting meetings to increase access
The Lincoln County Library is hosting a community meeting aimed at making the library more inclusive and accessible to patrons with disabilities.
The community’s insights and ideas are crucial in ensuring that the library remains a welcoming and accommodating space for everyone.
Both meetings are scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 6.
The first is from noon to 1 p.m. at the Lincoln County Library, 220 W. 6th Street, Libby. Lunch will be provided by Smoking Guns BBQ.
The second meeting, online via Zoom, is from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. To access the meeting, go to https://bit.ly/44caa4P.
Lincoln County Library believes that every member of our community deserves equal access to the resources, knowledge and opportunities it offers.
The intent of the meetings is to brainstorm ways to improve the library's physical layout, services and programs to better serve patrons with disabilities.
"Whether you're passionate about creating accessible digital resources, suggesting assistive technologies, or enhancing the physical environment, your input will help shape the future of our library," Library Director Alyssa Ramirez said. "We encourage you to invite others who might be interested in contributing their perspectives as well."
Lincoln County Library has been selected as one of 240 libraries to participate in Libraries Transforming Communities: Accessible Small and Rural Communities, an American Library Association (ALA) initiative
that provides community engagement and accessibility resources to small and rural libraries to help them better serve people with disabilities.
