Libby, Troy plan for Halloween events
Whether you're looking for trick or treats or scary filled fun there are plenty of Halloween events in southern Lincoln County next Tuesday.
Among the fun-filled festivities Libby will host is the store-to-store event on Mineral Avenue in Libby paired with a Trunk or Treat.
To celebrate the holiday the City of Libby will close Mineral Avenue and welcome trick-or-treaters from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 31. The event is free to attend.
The trick-or-treat store to store event is long-running and planned by the Libby Area Business Association. Initially it was started by Mark and Amber Managhan.
Kids are able to trick or treat from store to store and businesses outside of the area are encouraged to set up booths.
“We request this closure to keep children safe during the trick or treat store-to-store put on by the businesses on Mineral Avenue,” Burger wrote in an email to the city.
Libby City Councilors approved a request for a street closure for trick-or-treat activities on Halloween. Burger’s request was for barricades from the Dome Theater to the Cabinet Mountain Brewing Company, but she said she would make sure the barricades were placed to include Lincoln Boulevard.
Also, the House of Libby Event Center is hosting a Haunted House of Screams at the Libby Mercantile Building at 316 California Ave. It runs from Oct. 26-28 and is open from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. On Saturday, Oct. 28, the House of Screams will be adults only for a masquerade party from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tickets are being sold at the Post 97 American Legion and tickets can also be purchased at the door.
