A Libby man has received some notoriety for his work at Rosauers.

Calen Treat, 30, originally started working at the local grocery store nearly two years ago after moving to the Libby area from Oklahoma. He immediately put in an application at Rosauers.

When asked what made him initially apply at the store, he said, "I thought the idea of being in a union and being able to be in a company that has opportunities to move up was great!"

Treat has done extremely well with his time at Rosauers so far. He entered the Rosauers store competition for the Super Sacker Fastest Grocery Bagger Competition and placed second.

The Libby Rosauers held a competition to determine who would qualify for the franchise-wide competition.

Treat made the cut, then placed second in the storewide event, just seconds behind the winner. The qualifications to enter in the competition for Super Sacker are being a clerk helper, also known as a bagger, have bagged and stacked items correctly and efficiently throughout the year, with customers receiving the best possible care for their products.

In this competition all 21 stores in the Rosauers franchise participated. The winner from the store then represents their store in the Washington state competition. The winner from the Washington state competition goes on to compete in a national bagging competition while representing their store.

For placing second, Treat received a cash prize along with the option of being a stand-in for the Washington state competition if the winner can not attend.

Treat said he is absolutely ready to step in if given the chance. From the store franchise competition he was only a couple seconds behind the winner.

Out of a total of 60 points, the winner received 53.03 and Treat received 52.73. With only a few seconds of a difference, he expressed he would be happy to have the chance to go to the Washington competition if given the chance to show what he can do.

Calen, for the time being, sees himself continuing his career with Rosauers and he feels he can go far in the industry.
