City OKs street closure for Halloween trick-or-treat
Libby City Councilors approved a request for a street closure for trick-or-treat activities on Halloween.
Gail Burger, president of the Libby Area Business Association, asked for the road closure on Mineral Avenue from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31.
“We request this closure to keep children safe during the trick or treat store-to-store put on by the businesses on Mineral Avenue,” Burger wrote in an email to the city.
Council also approved the use of the city barricades for the closure at its Oct. 2 meeting. Burger said Business Association members would put up and take down the barricades.
Councilor Brian Zimmerman suggested moving the barricades up to Lincoln Boulevard, “to make it safer in conjunction with the trunk or treat” event.
Burger’s request was for barricades from the Dome Theater to the Cabinet Mountain Brewing Company, but she said she would make sure the barricades were placed to include Lincoln Boulevard.
