Evelyn M. Maxfield (McAllister)
Evelyn M. Maxfield (McAllister), 84, departed this world surrounded by her loving family.
Evelyn was a proud graduate of Libby High School’s class of 1958 and went on to further her education at Kinman Business School.
She served as a meticulous bookkeeper for various construction companies, farms, and most recently, a prominent law firm.
Together with her late husband, Evelyn was also an entrepreneur, owning a family diner and two farm supply stores in Elk and Deer Park, Washington.
Evelyn found joy in gardening, music and pets. But above all she cherished her family. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother creating enduring memories.
Evelyn also generously dedicated her time to volunteering at the COPS Shop, where her contributions made a meaningful impact in the community. She also was an active member of the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by her daughter Dorsey Ausband, son-in-law Joe Ausband and granddaughters Rebecca and Annalyse Ausband.
A graveside service to celebrate Evelyn’s life will be held at Fairmont Memorial Cemetery in Spokane at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14.
Friends and family are invited to gather and pay their respects.
