On Veteran’s Day, Saturday, Nov. 11, with the support of Libby VFW Post 1548 the Kootenai Valley Quilt Guild honored 14 veterans with Quilts of Valor.

Family and friends of the honorees and members of the Quilt Guild families were among the guests present. Dinner for all was prepared by the friends of the VFW.

During the presentation a brief history and slide show describes each veteran and the service they did for our nation. Each veteran is then presented with a Quilt of Valor made by the individual quilter.

Kootenai Valley Quilt Guild has been a member of the community for more than 30 years and has presented 82 Quilts of Valor to veterans who are connected to Libby and the surrounding area.

Recipients have represented all branches of the U.S. military.

The Quilts of Valor Foundation began in 2003 with a dream of providing comfort and healing to service members and veterans through quilts. To date more than 362,000 quilts have been presented to veterans across the country.

If you are a veteran or know of a veteran what would like to receive a Quilt of Valor please contact the Kootenai Valley Quilt Guild at kvqglibby@gmail.com

The next presentation will be November 2024.
