Libby Adventist Christian School receives LOR Funding
The Libby Adventist Christian School recently received funding for a new security fence.
The fence is to increase safety on school grounds for the children who go to school there along with the events that are held yearly.
The need arose a few years ago when the school, located just north of town on Airfield Road, started experiencing a few break-ins along with the parent concerns of the school location of being so close Highway 37 and a high traffic communal walking path.
With the school growing tremendously over the past few years with the ratio of students to staff, the school board wanted to create an area for the students to play where staff could have optimal supervision.
School official Diana Gerling came across a Facebook advertisement while doing research to find funding for the project.
She contacted LOR Foundation Libby Community Officer Tabitha Viergutz. With Viergutz's assistance, the school was able to able to secure a $25,467 grant.
"The hardest part of the whole project was hiring the contractor," Gerling said. "But we were fortunate enough to find Libby-based Crazy J Enterprises who agreed to take on the project."
