Registration open for Libby's Turkey Dash

It's Turkey Dash time in Libby!

The Ninth Annual Turkey Dash will be held at J. Neils Park at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18. Race organizers ask participants to come early! This 5k fun run and 2.5K walk is raising funds for two local non-profits.

This year the proceeds will be split between the Libby Food Pantry (www.facebook.com/people/Libby-Food-Pantry/100068333586720/) and the Libby Video Club (www.libbyvideoclub.com). 

"Both are worthy of our support," Turkey Dash Coordinator Dani Gordon said.

The early registration fee, through Nov. 10, is $25 for youth (12 and under) and $30 for adults. After Nov. 10, the registration fee is $35 for youth and $40 for aadults. Anyone can register on race day.

Race organizers said they are members of Run Sign Up, a company dedicated to the sport of running and making life easier for race directors and runners across the country. Run Sign Up provides us with a website and the capability for online registration and payment.

"We have chip timing which automatically clocks the time of each runner as they cross the finish line. Once the runners cross the finish line, they can step up to the cocoa bar, have a snack and cheer on the other runners," Gordon said.

All participants receive an award, ranging from socks to a framed picture to a meal for two at the Venture Inn.
