Brian David “Kief” Kieffer

| November 7, 2023 7:00 AM

Brian David “Kief” Kieffer, 53, of Libby, Montana, passed away at home from heart complications on Oct. 27, 2023.

Brian was born on Dec. 21, 1969, in Libby, to David and Hazel Kieffer. He attended Libby Public Schools, Libby Adventist Christian School and took community college courses. He had a wonderful group of friends in high school that shared his interests of playing soccer, video games, reading comic books, and watching wrestling and horror films.

As an adult, Brian’s interests expanded to include cooking, baking, and writing fantasy wrestling.

Brian required life stabilizing surgeries at birth, including a leg amputation below the knee. He persevered through many reconstructive surgeries and a kidney transplant. Brian liked joking with the dialysis staff and the kind staff at Rosauers and the Rosauers Pharmacy.

Despite Brian's medical challenges, he made the best of what he was dealt with and remained kind, good-hearted, inquisitive and imaginative throughout his life. He will be loved and greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his Aunt Wanda, Grandpa Casey, Grandma Roxy, Uncle Claude, Grandpa Woody, Grandma Marguerite and Uncle Dan.

He is survived by his parents David and Hazel; his sibling Heidi (Nathan); his half-siblings Pam and Steve (Kathy); his aunts Lorraine (Pete), Beverly (Don), and Sandy; and his nieces and nephews Aidan, Katerina, Sara, Sean, Rachel, David and Danny.

A memorial service for Brian will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17, at Christ Lutheran Church in Libby.

Donations to the Spokane Shriners or Pets for Life would be appreciated.

Arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg Funeral Home of Libby. Online memories and condolences may be shared by visiting www.schnackenbergfh.com.
