Notice of Public Comment Period for James Beasley/Evenson Engineering Floodplain Permit Application Mr. James Beasley and Evenson Engineering & Consulting, Inc. are requesting a floodplain permit for the construction of a concrete retaining wall and fill placement on the property on Commerce Way. The project involves import of earthen fill to elevate the property east of the existing condominiums. Construction of a retaining wall is proposed along the north edge of the property. The site grading is designed to provide storm water retention areas east of the existing condominiums and along the east boundary of the property. A drainage swale is proposed along the retaining wall to convey runoff to the City’s storm drain inlet at the northwest corner of the property. The property is adjacent to Flower Creek and is within the FEMA regulated Zone A floodplain of Flower Creek. Before a permit can be issued all adjacent landowners must be notified and allowed to provide public comment. The Public Notice below will run in the Western News on Tuesday 11/07/2023 and Friday 11/17/2023. Plans and specifications for this project can be viewed at the City of Libby City Office, 418 Mineral Ave., Libby, MT. Public comment will be taken for 15 calendar days from the date of this posting.
