Libby Logger Legion baseball splits two at rainy Wood Bat Classic
The Libby Loggers A squad split two games at last weekend's annual Loggertown Wood Bat Classic in American Legion baseball action.
Rain washed out Saturday's schedule of four games.
Friday, in the tournament opener, Missoula Impact scored five runs in the first inning and claimed an 11-0 win in five innings.
Sunday, the Loggers A squad enjoyed a fast start with three runs in the first inning and five in the second on the way to a 10-5 win over the Kalispell Sluggers.
The Loggers B squad routed the Cranbrook Bandits, 13-3, on Sunday.
In Wednesday's game, the Loggers were tied 0-0 with the Kalispell AA Lakers after three innings.
Caleb Moeller scattered three hits and three walks while striking out three.
But the Lakers (8-1) ended up winning 17-3 in the non-conference Legion baseball game.
Cy Williams doubled and homered for the Class A Loggers. Moeller, Isaac Lamere and James Redifer each had hits. Rusty Gillespie and Redifer also had RBIs.
The Loggers A team plays Saturday at Missoula Impact. The next home game is May 24 against the Kalispell Lakers A squad.
