Loggertown Wood Bat Classic kicks off Friday at Gehring Field

American Legion baseball is back in action in Libby this weekend at Lee Gehring Field with the annual Loggertown Wood Bat Classic.

The 2023 tournament will feature five teams in round robin play. 2023 teams include Libby Loggers A, Libby Loggers B, Kalispell Sluggers, Missoula Impact and the Cranbrook Bandits.

Here’s the schedule of games for the tournament, which runs from Friday to Sunday.

At 7 p.m. Friday, the Loggers A team will face Missoula Impact.

On Saturday, action begins at 10:30 a.m. with Kalispell facing Missoula. At 1 p.m., the Loggers B squad tangles with Missoula.

At 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Kalispell faces Cranbrook. At 6 p.m., the Loggers A squad faces Cranbrook.

The games begin bright and early Sunday with an 8:30 a.m. contest between the Loggers B team and Cranbrook. Cranbrook will be right back at it with a 10:45 a.m. game against Missoula.

At 1 p.m., Kalispell faces the Loggers B squad and the tourney wraps up with a 3:15 p.m. game as the Loggers A team faces Kalispell.

Fans will be pleased to see a fresh green coat of paint on the bleachers at Gehring Field.

Also, the 2023 Dinner on the Diamond fundraiser is scheduled for Friday, June 9. Dinner tickets are $40 each and will feature a prime rib dinner with a cash bar and live music.
