Scholarship opportunity for Lincoln County high school grads

Whitefish Community Foundation invites college-bound students from Lincoln County to apply for the Dorothy and Luther Campbell Scholarship.

One $2,500 scholarship will be awarded, with the potential for renewal for up to four consecutive years. The deadline to complete the online application is 5 p.m. April 6.

Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

To be eligible to apply, students must intend to enroll as a full-time student in a post-secondary educational institution this fall and meet the following criteria:

  • Be a graduating senior in Flathead County or Lincoln County, Montana, or have graduated from a high school in Flathead County or Lincoln County, Montana, within three years of the application date;

  • Show evidence of a minimum GPA of 3.0.

In addition to a current transcript, the following items are required as part of the application:

  • One letter of recommendation uploaded by a current or former teacher, professor, or instructor written in the calendar year the application is submitted.

  • One letter of recommendation uploaded by a current or former employer or community involvement supervisor written in the calendar year the application is submitted.

  • Responses to these essay questions:

  • Please describe a challenge you are overcoming as you pursue your goal of attending a post-secondary educational institution.

  • Please describe any special attributes or accomplishments that set you apart from the crowd.

  • Please explain what you believe you are capable of achieving once you have completed your post high-school education. You may explain this in terms of your life goals, career goals, and/or goals within your community.

Awards will be announced by May 15.
