Angler catches trophy rainbow trout
Greg Howard shows off a lunker rainbow trout he caught on Feb. 28, 2023, in the Kootenai River, just below Libby Dam. The trout weighed 12 pounds and was 31 inches long. Howard was fishing with Wyatt Guttormsen and Randy Hutchinson. Guttormsen brought nine trout to the boat, including two of 25 inches and 26 inches. Greg Howard was rightfully thrilled Tuesday afternoon when he and his fishing buddies stopped at The Western News office to show off a large rainbow trout he boated while fishing on the Kootenai River below Libby Dam.
The trophy trout measured 31 inches and weighed 12 pounds...
