Cabinet View Golf Club hosts youth golfers

Dozens of area youth had the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of golf at the 13th annual Cabinet View Golf Club Junior Golf Clinic.

It was open to youth ages 17 and under. Participants received instruction, a camp T-shirt and awards. It was free for everyone and equipment was provided to all kids.

"Thank you to all the volunteers!" PGA Director of Golf Jeff Dooley said.

The instruction included rules and etiquette, full swing and chipping and putting.

Following the drive, chip and putt competition, a barbeque and awards ceremony were held at the new clubhouse.

Here are the medalists of the drive, chip and putt competition.

9-and-under age group

In the boys group, Tysin Leckrone claimed first while Caddis Karoglanian was second. Drake Morford was third.

For the girls, Brielle Holzer claimed first, Aliyah Soete was second and Olivia Berschneider and Willow Fahland tied for third.

10-13 age group

In the boys group, Anderson Montgomery was the winner while Kason Courteau was second and Hank McAfee placed third.

For the girls, Quinly Leckrone was first, Caylee O’Malia placed second and Carly O’Malia took third.
