William T. Lowe Jr.

William T. Lowe Jr. was born Aug. 31, 1945 in New London, Connecticut.

He was the first born to William T. Lowe Sr. and Anita Mallory. He had a pleasant childhood growing up with his sister Cal in Great Barrington, Massachusetts.

He graduated from Searles High School in 1963. He then attended Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, prior to entering the U.S. Air Force in 1965.

While in the Air Force, he became a helicopter flight mechanic, then a member of the 37th Air Rescue and Recovery Squadron at Da Nang AB, Vietnam. He was awarded with several air medals and also received two Distinguished Flying Cross medals for his heroic actions rescuing fellow soldiers whose helicopters had been shot down during battle.

Willy was a hard worker and had many different jobs throughout his life. But his main job and the one he loved the most was was being a machinist.

He had three children, Danny, Jennifer and Andrew.

He then decided to make his lifelong dream of living in the mountains of Montana a reality and moved to Libby in 1995. Other than living in the Yaak for a short time, Libby is where he lived until the day he died. It was the place he loved.

In 2007, he married his wife, Connie. They were together for 18 years until she passed. They loved each other very much. They enjoyed doing everything together, including camping, exploring in the mountains and spending time almost daily at the creek at their home.

Willy enjoyed life, he was a good friend.

Willy was preceded in death by his father William T. Lowe Sr., his mother Anita Lowe and wife Connie Lowe.

He is remembered by his children Danny (Michelle), Jennifer (Christian) of Massachusetts and his son Andrew Lowe (Lisa) of Fortine, Montana.

His grandchildren Waylon and Lilly (Fortine, Montana), Matthew and Kaelyn (Massachusetts) and his sister Cal (Dick) from Massachusetts.

Willie and Connie will be buried together at Milnor Lake Cemetery in Troy, Montana, at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 24. A reception will follow at the VFW in Troy.
