Duaine Schultz, 74

Duaine K. Schultz passed away on May 6 from pneumonia and congestive heart failure.

Duaine was born on Aug. 17, 1948. He was a proud Army veteran and proud to be a born again Christian.

Duaine was preceded in death by his parents, Duaine H. Schultz and Willie Mae Shepherd, oldest brother, Lamoine and oldest sister, Cheryl, his beloved GSP dog Greta and his "cool" cat Bubber.

He is survived by his two children, Mark who resides in Arbuckle, California, and Monica who resides in Libby, his three grandchildren, Anna residing in Texas, Jett, and Tatianna both residing in Arbuckle, California, five of his seven siblings and his cat Raimunda.

Duaine was born and raised in California and moved to Libby, Montana, in 1997 with his first wife Ronnie fulfilling his dream to live in a small town in the mountains.

Duaine suffered from bad health for many years but didn't let ill health slow him down. He was very active until his stroke in 2018.

Duaine loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hiking, reading, fishing, shooting, work in general and good conversation with his friends and family.

Duaine was a carpenter and loved wood working, which he learned from his father. His love for animals encouraged him to help become one of the original founding members of Libby's Kootenai Pets For Life.

He was a friend to many and will be greatly missed.

Duaine was cremated and his remains will reside with his daughter.
