Kenneth A. Lyon

Kenneth A. Lyon, born March 10, 1948, to Robert “Buzzy” and Rosella Lyon in Libby, Montamna, left this world to meet his Maker on July 14, 2023, at Curtis Hill Manor.

He died as he lived, quietly and peacefully, surrounded by those who loved him and respected him.

During Ken’s life, he served for four years in the U.S. Navy as a Machinist Mate aboard USS Kawishiwi (AO-146). After he was honorably discharged in December of 1970, he gained employment at Widco (Centralia Mining Company) as a welder. He was employed for 22 years. After which he started his own fabrication shop, Industrial Fabrication and Testing. There, he worked for another 20 years and retired in 2016.

Ken was known throughout the community as an honest, hard-working man. He was a quiet, humble, servant leader who gained the admiration and loyalty of many.

Ken enjoyed hunting in Libby, returning every year that he was able to spend time with family and relax in the woods of his youth.

Ken was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Donna, his parents Buzzy and Rose Lyon, and his uncle, Phillip Barr.

Ken is survived by his four children, Jeff (Leigh) Lyon, Susan (Joe) Frank, Kenna Hammock and Aaron (Liz) Lyon, his 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his four siblings, Robert (Janet) Lyon, Daniel (Kaye) Lyon, Timothy Lyon and Charlene (Herman) Streeter.

A funeral service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church (2071 Bishop Road, Chehalis) at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2023. Burial will take place at the Napavine Cemetery at approximately 3 p.m.
