Cherry Lane (Bebee) Arthur

On Dec. 7, 2023, we said goodbye to a beautiful and loving soul, Cherry Lane (Bebee) Arthur.

Cherry was born on Feb. 19, 1955, in Bismark, North Dakota, to John and Shirley Bebee.

They moved to Libby Montana in 1964, where Cherry graduated high school in 1973. After high school, she moved to Lewistown, Montana for work when she met the love of her life, James E. Arthur from Winifred. They were married on June 30, 1974. They lived on a small farm and had three children James, David and Kathryn. 

Cherry was an active member of the community.

She played Mrs. Claus in the winter and, in the summer, reenacted the train robbery of the Charlie Russell Choo Choo. Cherry was the head cook at the Winifred public school for 31 years before she retired. Cherry cherished every year watching the kids grow and succeed. 

She was loved by everyone she touched. Her life was filled with music, church and spending time with her beloved friends and family.

Cherry was preceded in death by her parents, John Bebee, Shirley Miller, brother Calvin Bebee and husband James E. Arthur. 

She was survived by her children, James Arthur, David Arthur and Kathryn Arthur Lunn. Three grandchildren Jesse Newman, Skylar Newman and Christopher Bulloch. Three sisters and three brothers, Diane Dudley, John Bebee, Robbie Pierce, Carla Winkler, Leslie Miller and Kevin Miller. 

Celebration of life service will be held at the Winifred public school on at 2 p.m. Jan. 7, 2024.
