Montana DEQ asks public for climate plan suggestions

The Department of Environmental Quality says it’s looking for ‘non-regulatory, innovative, voluntary’ approaches for a federally funded greenhouse gas reduction program.

The Montana Department of Environmental Quality announced earlier this month that it has received a $3 million federal grant to generate a plan to reduce Montana’s greenhouse gas emissions.

Now DEQ is asking the public to suggest shovel-ready projects to incorporate into that plan. More specifically, DEQ is seeking information about projects that could be candidates for support from the Climate Pollution Reduction Grant, a newly launched federal program that has billions of dollars at its disposal.
