Lady Loggers win first game at Western A Tip-off Tournament

The Libby Lady Loggers basketball team finished 1-1 at the Western A Tip-off in Frenchtown last weekend after beating Stevensville, 45-30, Saturday.

Kaydence Stanek was hot from 3-point land, draining three and finishing with 11 points. Rylee Delmas also scored 11 while Peyton Waggoner added 10 points.

Little defense was played in the first quarter when Libby owned a 19-16 edge on the scoreboard. But the Lady Loggers clamped down the rest of the way, holding the Yellowjackets to just 14 points.

Other Lady Loggers scoring points were Rachel Kosters with four, while Ellie Andreesen, Maddie Vincent and Bergen Fortner each scored three points.

Friday, Park High topped the Lady Loggers 56-40 as Maria Turck exploded for 30 points. 

Delmas led Libby with 11 points, Madison Vincent scored eight, Waggoner had six and Stanek tallied five. 

Other Lady Loggers scoring were Fortner with four, Andreesen had three, White with 2 and Addy Gilden-Vincent scored one point.

The Lady Loggers (1-2) opened the season at Frenchtown on Dec. 2 and lost 57-10.

They played at Eureka Thursday in the Kootenai Challenge. 

Libby hosts its first game Thursday, Dec. 21, against Hamilton.
