Online homeowners intervention program offered by CAPNM
Community Action Partnership of Northwest Montana (CAPNM) has a foreclosure intervention program which includes access to the Montana Homeowner Assistance Fund program.
The program is designed to help home owners who are having difficulty meeting their monthly mortgage payments and those already in the foreclosure process. For homeowners who are concerned about increases in their mortgage payments, property taxes, homeowners insurance, HOA dues, utilities or your budget, this program will help.
The foreclosure intervention counseling program provides help for home owners who are delinquent or soon to be delinquent with their house payments or have received foreclosure correspondence of any type.
Some of these problems may be resolved through the Montana Homeowners Assistance Fund program, which we can help you navigate through. Counselors are HUD Certified and the counseling is FREE.
Contact Sara Briggs at sbriggs@capnwmt.org for more information and to join the program.
As a reminder, CAPNM's home buyers education classes are suspended during December and January. It encourages prospective home buyers to take an online home buyer education class called eHome.
Visit CAPNM’s webpage at https://www.capnm.net/homebuyer-education to enroll in eHome.
The eHome course is taken at your leisure and once completed will automatically send your registration information to Briggs who will then contact you to set up a one-on-one counseling session required by HUD to complete the process.
The counseling session takes approximately one hour and is conducted over the phone. Appointment hours are extremely flexible.
Contact Briggs at sbriggs@capnwmt.org for a link to the site and a discount code.
Completion of eHome and the one-on-one counseling session is one of the key elements to qualifying for various loan products and down payment assistance programs.
U.S. Department of Agriculture, Veterans Administration, Montana Board of Housing, Federal Housing Administration, NWMT and other loans and down payment assistance require this class for all first-time home buyers.
The sooner you take it in the home buying process, the more of a benefit it will be to you.
