One man died and a woman was hospitalized after a traffic crash Saturday night near Rexford.

According to a report from Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Virgil Sadewasser, a 38-year-old Eureka man was driving a Toyota Tacoma south at about 8:38 p.m. on an icy and snowy Montana 37 at milemarker 63.3 when he failed to negotiate a left hand curve and lost control of the vehicle.

The truck went sideways off the right side of the road, became airborne and rolled several times before coming to rest off the road on its passenger side.

Both the driver and a 35-year-old Eureka woman, who were not wearing seat belts, were ejected from the truck.

The man was declared dead at the scene while the woman was taken to Logan Health in Kalispell.

According to MHP, alcohol and speed were suspected factors in the crash.
