The members of the Kootenai Valley Quilt Guild are busy preparing for their annual quilt show on Sept. 8-9, at the Memorial Center at 111 E. Lincoln Blvd. in Libby.

Show hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Each year the Kootenai Valley Quilt Guild gathers to showcase the talents of its members and other community quilt makers as well celebrate the ongoing community service work of the guild.

Members of the guild provide comforting quilts to those who have lost homes to fire, safe home residents, the dialysis center and more. Annual educational opportunities such as Sew Camp for Kids as well as adult classes are held.

In partnership with the Libby VFW Post 1548, guild members make and present veterans with Quilts of Valor that are registered with the Quilts of Valor Foundation.

Over 75 quilts have been awarded by guild members to recognize of the service of local veterans.

This year’s show will include a vendor market, boutique offering handmade quilting items and quilts for sale, raffle quilt and special displays of machines from times past.

Quilt registration forms, which are due Aug. 31, are available at The Quilt Cottage in Libby.

Each year one member is selected to represent the guild as Quilter of the Year and the 2023 honoree is Carol Rosenquist.

The guild is also thankful to the LOR Foundation for their generous contribution to this year's quilt show.
