Library speaker will discuss Alzheimer's disease
This summer’s final Lemonade at the Library will be held at the Libby Library from noon to 1 p.m. on Aug. 23.
The program is sponsored by Lincoln County Library and the Libby Friends of the Library, with refreshments provided.
Marian Steel, PhD will be presenting, “The Big Ideas of Caregiving.” She will share insights from two books: "See with your eyes – Hear with your heart," LaVar Steel’s Expressions of Alzheimer’s Disease and" A Diagnosis for Two."
Together these two books examine dementia from the perspective of the person suffering with the disease, the physician and the caregiver. Both of these books provide a dynamic look at a difficult disease.
Although Marian had a career in education, she was the learner as she navigated the role of caregiver. Her presentation is filled with fun and positive ideas for finding joy and enjoyment in a challenging role. You will come away with a fresh perspective and ready to engage your own creativity.
People are welcome and encouraged to bring the person for whom you are caring if you wish.
Books can be purchased after the presentation and Steel will be available to sign them.
